Springtime!?

Well, I must say we have truly lucked out with the weather here in Detroit this week (so far). It's so warm today, I left the winter coat at home and was nearly blinded by the sunlight driving down the street. I'm sincerely hoping this is not some sort of tease, but being Michigan we're still prepared for the likely scenario that there will be a snowstorm in 15 minutes. In the meantime, we're just going to relax and enjoy the sun.

People aren't the only ones who get excited about the warm weather and extended daylight. This morning our dogs were barking early, around 6:30 AM, looking to get outside and play. Normally, our dogs sleep in until much, much later. It seems as though they are needing to get out and get fresh air... just like the rest of us. Anything to keep them happy, right?

Wherever you may be on this gorgeous day, we hope that you are able to take advantage of the Spring feeling in the air... and get outside and enjoy a little time with your pets!

Dog Parks!

It's shaping up to be a gorgeous March here in Michigan! We've been fortunate to have weather in the 50s all week. Depending on where you live, this may not seem all that warm, but to us Midwesterners its a fantastic reminder that spring is weeks away!

For dog lovers, it's a great time of year to get out and enjoy some warmer weather activities with our beloved pets. One of my personal favorite activities is to give my boys a chance to "socialize" with other pets at the dog parks. Here in Grosse Pointe, MI we are lucky enough to have a number of dog parks nearby.

I was reading an article today about dog park etiquette from a Canadian newspaper. Since there are a number of helpful hints, I thought I'd pass it on... especially for those new to dog-owning. Read the article here: Minding Manners for Pets: Proper dog park etiquette.

Hope you, and your pets, are able to get a chance to get outside and embrace this wonderful time of year.
