Valentine's Day
This is one of the best things I have heard in a while... not surprising, but still great to have it proven. A recent study says that nearly 1/5 of 24,000 adults surveyed would prefer to spend Valentine's Day with their pet than their partner/spouse. While I truly enjoy human companionship, I must say I "get it."
There is something so nice and relaxing about spending a nice night in with my dogs. Nobody hogs the remote, nobody cares if I drink the last glass of wine, nobody talks during the TV show/movie.
It's a rare occasion that I find myself in this situation these days. With a baby, husband and family all around town, O'Reilly, Finningan and I don't get much time alone. But, I'm now reminded that they make excellent "night in" companions. And, they won't bark if I decide I'm in the mood for a "chick flick." They've definitely earned a Valentine's Day reward!
